New Project in 2012!

Hey there people!

We have been steady working on a few things here in Trashman’s World. One being our PILOT RECYCLING program! That’s right kids> Trashy bought another truck just for it!

We will begin picking up your recyclables  on your trash day! It could be in a different truck and at a different time, so please bear with us. It’s the old Eoff Furniture truck. (I’ll eventually get it painted.)

If your trash is being picked up by our box trucks, they “might” take the trash+recyclables. Don’t be alarmed if you see that. It will be meeting with the recycle truck to off load it.

Please put your items in shopping bags or boxes and set beside your trash.  This way, we can tell the difference, and leave it for our other truck to pick up shortly afterwards. If you wish to use a separate trash can, please put a label on it stating “Recycle”.

We’re taking:

paper,  magazines, and junk mail,

#1 and #2 plastic,  (Examples: milk jugs, soda bottles, bleach and laundry detergent bottles, soap and shampoo bottles, etc.) You will find a triangle under every item with the # inside it.  Any other numbers higher than 2 are not acceptable.

[Plastic we CANNOT take:  plastic wraps, dinner take out trays, Tupperware, Glad-Ware, any kind of plastic bags, etc. Please just stick with the plastic jugs and soda/water bottles if you're in any doubt.]

steel cans (labels can stay on, just rinse out) & aluminum cans

We’re doing this solely on our own, and with your help, we can make a difference in keeping the amount of trash going into the Morrilton Landfill down. In December alone, our trucks dumped out 213.84 TONS of trash at the Transfer Station. That equals 11 FULL semi-truck trailers going to Morrilton, with just our trash!!

Clinton and Van Buren County doesn’t seem so ‘small’ now, does it?

Thanks in advance to all our customers who are going to participate in this Pilot Project to help it succeed! The funds we save not dumping recyclables in the Transfer Station will off set the fuel costs and time of running another truck. We receive NO grant money or money from the County or City government for this project. This is a PEOPLE Powered Project only!!

Your ‘ol pal,

Trashman

P.S. There will be an update on the 2nd Annual Redneck Games coming soon. The dates for it are Sat. Oct. 13 and Sunday Oct. 14th. That’s right>TWO DAYS!

Newletter Confusion on Dec. 12/7/11

To all our customers:

We seem to have some confusion with our December newsletter. Let me set the record straight for all of our customers who visit this website. I hope this helps….

We are NOT going to charge your account $5 if you don’t have your trash out OR if you put out double trash on your next stop because you missed us!

What we’re trying to say is this: If you miss us because your trash wasn’t out on time, and you call us to come BACK to your location to get you, there will be a $5 charge on your account for fuel costs.

Please keep in mind: we do write down the time we were there, by your name, if it’s not out.

I hope this clears up any confusion. If you have any other questions, feel free to email me through the contact link at this website.

Take care!

Trashman

Sunday Oct. 16, 2011

Ok, here we go!!

Well, one week ago yesterday, the very 1st official Redneck Olympics in the state of Arkansas became a reality. It was a huge success!

We did have some problems.

1st: The 1st band to play, Knee Deep, backed out 2 weeks before. I was a bit miffed! (Yeah, I said miffed. It’ll build up from there, don’t worry.) I had turned down 3 other bands because I had a full roster.

Their agent contacted the second act: The Moses Tucker Band. They stepped up to the plate and said they would do a double set!

Team Trashman gets very impressed and rejoices!

2nd: The stage company decided they didn’t want the job. I say this because they called me on Thursday afternoon (after 3:30) and wanted MORE money, and an impossible request for a ‘Provider Box’ instead of just hard wiring/plug’n in to our provided breaker boxes at the fairgrounds. The fairground folks were electricians, and told me it would costs $1,000 to build such a thing.

I quickly got on the phone with the locals to find some trailers for a stage. Eoff Feed steps up and says they have a goose neck trailer they will rent me. Johnathon Huie jumps in and says he’s got the truck and a trailer as well! I pay them both for their rent and delivery/pick up charges, and thank them for helping us out. Johnathon gets the trailers stage delivered on Friday afternoon!

BIG THANKS to our only monetary sponsor, Justin’s Collision and Towing, for the extra $ for this!! It really came in handy! (I wish I had a photo to insert here. lol)

Moving quickly, I contact the bands and request they bring their own sound for their set.  The Moses Tucker Band and Mary Holt from Sister Rock SPRING into action and start making phone calls to their people for sound for the day. Moses Tucker comes through 1st and saved the day! Sister Rock gets big hugs for their efforts as well!!

3rd: We seemed to have had a miscommunication with the Bounce House company. No one bothered to call me and tell me they weren’t gonna come because they couldn’t afford to insure their business.  I didn’t find out until late that morning, after repeated texts. Luckily, after all the vendors in the children’s area were starting to get nervous, Mother’s Against Meth saved the Day with the Shirley Fire Dept.’s Dunking Booth! Whew! That wasn’t something I was expecting, but it sure was welcome! Thank you ladies, and Shirley Fire Dept. Chief Alan Rolan for letting them bring it for their cause!

4th: Our Event Announcer’s P.A. went ‘toes up’ on the very 1st “testing …’click’…ppfft”!

At this point, I had already blew every heart valve, busted every pulsing vein in my head, and had 6 mini Fred Sandford heart attacks. So, there wasn’t a whole lot I could do to fix this.

I love my crew, but I had to scream…”You don’t have a flippin horn?!?!? Where do I have to GO to get a horn out here!?!?!”

So, we endured, and went up and down the rows of fans, trying to keep them up to speed. All you really had to do was just sit there and watch, and that’s what the crowd did.

The Crowd was AMAZING!! I’ve never seen so many people in one place, being considerate of each other. The lawn chair folks dropped their chairs on the flag line, and the standing folks stood  behind them. This was the same at the trailer stage. I couldn’t believe how everyone was getting along! I’ve been to many concerts, and have NEVER seen such things. This is what it’s all about people!

Moving on…here’s your free shot at some of the events that where sent to us by our fans.

1st I give you… A little taste of lawn mower racing!

https://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=2296254900186

Next up, here’s a taste of the Wheelbarrow Racing Teams..

https://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=2296462225369

And, last, but not least, here’s a little ditty we like to call “Get Me a Cold One…combined with Tossing 6 in the Can From the Chair”…

https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=176906762391661&id=171813739546228

Yes, it appears that you have to just break down and get a Facebook Account to get in on this action. (let me know if these links don’t work!)

OK, I’m putting this on now. I’ll add to it later this week. If you have a pick or video to add, please send it to Arkylandtrashman@gmail.com and I’ll post it !

There is much more to tell, and many picks to share… Stay tuned!

Huge Success!

Hey! I know everyone is very eager to know how things turned out at the event. This is just a short update because I’m doing more interviews today about it. I will write a real killer update soon!

According to our figures, we had over 1,000 people and 400 cars show up for this! We completely blew the doors off this 1st Annual Event! We are very proud of everyone who was involved to make this a great thing for our town of Clinton.

We did it! We showed EVERYONE that we could have something like this without any trouble. The No Alcohol Rule wasn’t even challenged by the Crowd. They we the BEST! I never have seen that many people in one place without something going down. Everyone was orderly, and considerate of the people with lawn chairs.

We had a great security team! Clinton Police Officer-Security Team Leader Jay Murdock report is: No fights. No alcohol related incidences. No ejections for disorderly attitude (or anything else). No arrests!

It was the PERFECT community/Family Event, and the weather was great!

Mark your calendars for the 2nd weekend of October 2012 for a 2nd Annual Redneck Olympic Games TWO DAY EVENT!! We’re going to be twice as big, and have twice as much fun next year, w/car show hopefully!

Also, we didn’t shut it down. We’re still selling merchandise!! If you missed out on getting your T-shirt, key chain, stadium color changing cup, frizbee, cowbell, or can coolie, contact me and we’ll get it to you. We’ll be posting picks and pricing a little later. Or, if you’re in Clinton, swing by the Miller’s Sanitation office and get something.

The DVD movie is in production and will be available soon!

News releases and new buttons 9/29/11

Hey!
Our ‘ol Pal Tony Coke got us the hook up with some nifty new link buttons for this place. If you look around, you’ll see the ones for Facebook, Twitter, and or sister website!

That website has had over 11,000 hits this month alone this month. To my surprise, we got a call from the people at Comedy Central’s Daily Show yesterday! We had a great talk. She gave me her phone number, for any new developments, and mentioned that there’s a possibility they might send someone to the cover our Event! I really hope they do. But if not, it was still very exciting to actually have them call here. This just goes to show you how big this is getting since it hit the reuters news website on Monday, in an article mention.

Today we sent out press releases to all of the state news TV Stations!

We’re still taking registration forms for events! Do understand that if you wait till Event Day to sign up, some of the events will not be on the rosters. The most popular ones will be kept.

Lawnmower Racers need to bring their helmets, a stock motor w/mower, a kill switch somewhere on it. We don’t want one pulling a runaway if you fall off! lol There will be a waiver to sign of course. They will be raced in pairs of 2 for three laps each, and put on the bracket board for the next heat.

A new shipment of T-shirts have just left from the factory and are on their way!

Update 9/27/11

Hello again my people!

I’ve been trying to get on here and give you an update for a few weeks now. Things keep a changing all the time. My phone’s ringing off the hook! Sorry if you can’t get through. Please just shoot me an email and be patient with us. It’s our 1st time. Be gentle. lol

First order of business. I have to give a great big shout out to Justin’s Collision and Towing for their generous sponsorship $ to go towards the bands coming to entertain you! We have 5 now w/music all day starting at 10am. THANK YOU!

Line up is as follows:

10am: Knee Deep

12pm: Moses Tucker Band

2pm: Sister Rock

4pm: Whistle Pigs

6pm: Black Oak Arkansas

There have been a lot of other businesses helping where they can. Hensley’s Auto Supply gave us a great deal on the helium tank for balloons for the kids. They’re location is in downtown Clinton and have had a flyer in their window every since the word come out we were gonna do this. Thanks guys!

We’ve also got Pepsi and Anti-Monkey Butt Powder giving us the hook up! Pepsi’s getting us a tent, coolers,  and all their products for this event! AMBP has got us a really cool banner and alot of free product to give out to the crowd! Consider these National Companies the next time you want to do something. They are really great people in times like these!

Clinton City Hall has been very supportive of this! The  Clinton Fire Dept.,  City Police Dept., Clinton Water Dept., Clinton Chamber of Commerce, City Council, as well as the local County Govt. like our County Judge, J.P.’s on the Quorum Court, and County Sheriffs Dept., have all extended their whole hearted support to this 1st time community event for our town. They understand what this can do for Clinton. This is the 1st of it’s kind here in this state. I thank them for being so receptive  to the concept of doing this the right way, a positive way, so that we can make this a great thing for everyone to come to Clinton for for years to come.

Second up: We will have a booth in downtown Clinton this Sat. Oct. 1st for the Clinton Chamber of Commerce Annual Chili Cook Off. We will be giving away helium balloons to the kids, answering questions, and signing up people for events. I believe the sign at 1st Security Bank said it’s from 11am till 2pm this year. (If I am wrong, I’ll be editing it tomorrow, so come back and see! lol)

The Cook Off has 12 teams this year, a live band, vendors, and will have TV’s all around for people to watch the Arkansas football game. Come on out and see us and visit with everyone!

Now, onward to the MEAT of this update!!

Our Event is in LESS THAN TWO WEEKS!! We’ve been working really hard these last 6 months to bring this to you. People are really depending on the RO to bring the awesome!….and you’re ‘ol pal Trashman is here to tell you that we’re getting ready for y’all! There will be a lot of vendors and food…even deep fried twinkies and snickers bars, and home made pork rinds made on site.

We also just signed on a professional air brush artist to paint your Big Bubba Belly, or Pregnant Lady Belly (it’s a  unisex event)!! All you have to do is pay him your entry fee, get painted, and show up when it’s time for that event. How easy is that? This guy will also be doing airbrush face painting at the same booth, for kids and adults. His work is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before in this field.

We were mentioned in a Reuters.com news article Monday (date, place, and everything!). A lot of National and International  news agencies picked it up, so now we’re GLOBAL! We will show them that we’re not like all the others who have tried to do this. We’re gonna be the best and damn proud of it! Send your news man over. We ain’t scared!  Send them all!!

We’ve been heard in Clinton, Morrilton, Heber Springs, Searcy, Marshall, Leslie, Conway, Little Rock River Market, Hot Springs, Rogers, Batesville, and numerous other cities and states.  We’ve also been listed in arkansas.com, greersferry.net, and arkansasfamily.com among other sites. They are coming in from all over!

This IS the Biggest Event of the Fall Season to come see! It’s cheaper than the State Fair and kids under 4 get in free. $5 to park, and $2 a head is an awesome value….AND IT’S GONNA BE HERE IN LESS THAN TWO WEEKS BABY!!

We went to the Chimes Fire Volunteer Annual Pig Roast and Lawnmower race this past Sat. They really rocked it, and the Races were great. Good people, and Good Times.

After I saw their track, I realized that there really is room to race in a track situation! So, ATTENTION ALL LAWN MOWER RACERS OUT THERE!!! Get your mower, you’ve been working so hard on, and get it to the Event to qualify to race! It’s only $10 bucks entry and a signed waiver to get you in! Just be sure your mower has kill switch and a stock block. No 4-wheeler motors! We’ll break down the different classes as they come in. Hopefully if some twin blocks show up, there will be some for them to race too! lol

We need more BBQ Contestants! Your odds are very good this time to win the $500 Grand Prize.  Get with us for details. If you can’t get through to us on the phone, contact me through the website or email arkylandtrashman@gmail.com to get registered. It’s $75 to sign up, and $50 per catagory of chicken, pork butt, or brisket. You can enter more than 1 category. And, as always, Non-Profits can get in on this for FREE!!

Today I got a big O box of cowbells with the logos on them. You know you want buy one!!

Which brings me to this little detail>>Everything about this event is Cash Only! Soooo, hit the ATM before you head this way!

We’ll have Celebrity Judges! 2 of which are Arkansas’ own Comedians Angry Patrick and his wife Laura (voted funniest person in AR 2011!) They won’t be doing a show, just judging. But I bet they’ll  still bring the funny visiting with everyone!  They are really great folks, and I thank them for their time to come out and hang with us!

That is all for now.  You can expect another update soon.

Thank y’all for your support!

Your ‘ol Pal,

Trashman

Fair Update on 9/4/11

Greetings friends and supporters!

Here’s your latest update in Trashman’s World
, the one place you can always get ‘in the know’ as it happens here first!

First off, I have great news! The Redneck Olympics Medals are in transit to be delivered as you read this! They will have an engraved plate on the back, but not the actual event name. This is because there are some events that will not be done this year. We are giving the people as many choices as possible, event wise, and will be dropping the less popular ones. Please preregister soon to try and insure your favorite event will be done this year! I’m sure everyone will really love the medals, and will hang them from their truck/car rear view mirrors with pride!

The trophies for the BBQ Contest are also on their way too. We have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trophies for all the categories, as well as the Grand Prize Trophies for the overall winners. Remember, the Grand Prize is $500 for 1st, $300 for 2nd, and $150 for 3rd for the best overall winners! It’s only $75 to sign up, plus $50 entry for each category you want to cook under. (Beef Brisket, Chicken, and Pork Butt)  You can sell your meat to the crowd, but be prepared to give out free samples if you do. We’re getting a lot of calls on this event, so jump in with your Weber and get you some! I’m proud to announce that one of the Judges will be our own  Joe Benedetti, from Franks Hickory House in Choctaw! We’re really hoping to see some more celebrities come out for this. There is a lot of phone chat, but I can’t shout it out until it’s confirmed. Keep checking back for the latest! The judging time will be around 5pm, with the gates for the contestants opening at 7am. If you need to be there earlier, let me know, to work something else out.

I’ve also ordered some really cool merchandise for this awesome event! You can be guaranteed that you’ll be able to purchase something on the cheap to show your pals you attended. Key chains (w/metal engraved plate), and can coolies are on their way! I’m shopping for the perfect hat, as well as a Frisbee. I still have  T-shirts, and might even order more! We also will be unveiling a super secret product (hand made by my wife) that you’re sure to fall in love with!

We will also have a booth at the Van Buren County Fair, at the same location as our event (VBC Fairgrounds, Clinton AR) It should be up from Monday Sept. 12 thru Friday the 16th from 4pm till 9pm. It’ll be open all day on Sat. the 17th till 9pm. We’ll be giving away free balloons to the public and signing people up for the events. The balloons will have a really cool Redneck Olympics logo on them, different from what you’ve seen around. Your kids will love them! If you’re lucky, you might get a chance to visit with your ‘ol pal Trashman himself!

Shortly after this promotion, the preregistration will close, and events will be dropped to make room for a great show. So, please download the form at www.redneckgamesofarkansas.com, or at this website. Print it out and send it in with your money!  Y’all have mailed me letters, called me, and told me you want this! I’m bringing this awesome event to you, but it’s the people that are gonna make this event great! Thank you so much for your support!

Feel free to contact me at Arkylandtrashman@gmail.com with any questions or call 501-745-4458. Thanks!

Your ‘ol Pal,

Trashman
